What would you say?
- If you want to tell someone that you want very much to learn Maya, you can say:
- Tin tʾaan ich mayaʾ.
- Kin naʾatik mayaʾ.
- Taak in kanik maya.
- If you want to ask someone how old he is, you can say:
- Jay pʾéel años yaan teech.
- Yaan wáa teech tsíimin.
- Jay pʾéel jaʾab yaan teʾex.
- If you want it explained to you how something is, you can say:
- Tuʾux ka bin.
- Tsol teen bixij.
- Kʾáat teen bixij.
- If you have a bad headache, you can report the fact by saying:
- Jach tun chiʾibal in pool.
- Tun chiʾibal in koj.
- Minaʾan taakʾin.
- If you want someone to go with you for a drink, you can say:
- Koʾox taak in ukʾul.
- Koʾox teneʾ taak in wenel.
- Koʾox taak in janal.
- If you want to know what's on the agenda for today, you can say:
- Baʾax k bin j beet bejlaʾeʾ.
- Baʾax uts ta wich bejlaʾeʾ.

- If you want someone identified for you, you can say:

- If you want to remark on the beauty of a horse, you can say:

- If you want to inquire as to the number of chicks present, you can say:

- If you want to know how to say "horse" in Maya, you can ask (an English-speaking Maya):

- Bix a waʾalik horse ich maya.
- Bix a waʾalik Chicago ich maya.
- He would likely reply:

- Bring me that flashlight of mine!

- It's theirs; it's not mine nor yours.
- Tell me, is it ours?
- Buy [you (pl.)] a house!
- I don't have any money.
